As a requirement of opening a Jarden Direct account, a cash account will also be opened for you. The cash account is used as your default settlement/funding account for securities trading, sale proceeds and purchase payments.

What happens now
Before you start, you'll need to make sure you have the following information handy for the applicants applying today:
- Personal and contact information
- IRD number
- If an applicant has traded shares in New Zealand, their Common Shareholder Number (CSN)
As part of this application, you can nominate someone you know (an Authorised Representative) to trade securities on your behalf.

What happens after
Once received, your application will be reviewed and verified before your account is created. You should allow up to five business days for this process. As part of this application we may require additional information or additional forms to be submitted. The additional forms will be emailed to you, and we will be in touch if we need any additional information from you.
When your application has been approved and established, you will receive an email advising:
- Your Jarden Direct Client Account Number
- Instructions for internet trading
- Jarden Direct contact details if you require any assistance.
